Topic Builders & Architects FAQ
Where do Topic Builders & Architects build?
As well as Geelong, Topic Builders & Architects also build their award-winning homes in and around the Surf Coast, including Torquay, Anglesea, Aireys Inlet and Lorne. On the Bellarine Peninsula we build our new homes in and around the towns of Ocean Grove, Barwon Heads, Queenscliff and Portarlington. We also build in and around Werribee and Lara.
Do you use rammed earth in your Geelong home designs?
Our Geelong architects have incorporated rammed earth into a number of our house designs, including the Natural Elements Home. With its wonderfully textural look and incredible eco-friendly status, it is one material Geelong home builders should definitely consider!
What is so special about Corten steel?
When left out in the elements, Corten steel forms a rust-like appearance on its surface that is stable and eliminates the need for painting. Topic Builders & Architects use Corten steel on a number of our Geelong home designs.
What are the benefits of using an architect when designing and building new homes?
A good architect not only produces designs and drawings, they will also advise on site selection, design and plan in conjunction with your budget and your requirements, and take into account all council rules and regulations. An architect is trained to think laterally to provide more options for Geelong new homes. At Topic Builders & Architects we are proud to have an in-house architect working with our home builders.
What should I ask my builder?
There are a few things you should know from your Geelong builder before you sign on the dotted line! Questions you should ask include:
- How long have you been in business?
- Can I see examples of the homes you have built?
- Do you have testimonials from your past clients?
- Do you build environmentally friendly homes?
- Do you build only from the Geelong house plans you currently have or can I have input into the design?
- Do the builders at your company work with an architect?
